CEREC One Visit Dental Crowns in Boulder, CO

Boulder Dentist Serving Denver, Ft. Collins & Nearby Areas in Colorado

Perhaps you know the old routine. You visit the dentist, you need a dental crown. The dentist prepares the tooth, takes an impression and installs a temporary crown. You then wait two weeks and return to the dentist, and he or she installs the permanent dental crown. And if the fit isn't perfect, then it goes back to the lab and you wait again, and return to the dentist again.

But now, that's all changed. At Adler Advanced Dentistry in Boulder:

  • Patients love it!

How Do One-Visit Crowns Work?

At Adler Advanced Dentistry we can reduce that two-week waiting period and two or three office visits down to just a single visit for dental crowns! This 21st century technology is called CEREC, which is a precision computer-aided design and milling device. It allows us to create a permanent dental crown in just a few minutes in our Boulder dental office.

Dr. Micheal Adler was one of the first dentists on the Colorado Front Range to employ the CEREC technology in his practice.

What Is CEREC?

The CEREC system allows us to repair a damaged tooth in about an hour. We no longer take impressions or create temporaries, and it enables Dr. Adler to satisfy patients seeking a long-lasting, esthetic alternative to silver or plastic fillings. This precision procedure eliminates further tooth cracking, risk of future root canals.

To make the restoration, Dr. Adler first paints a reflective powder over the prepared tooth. Using a special camera, he takes an accurate picture of the tooth which is then displayed on a computer screen, where he designs the restoration.

Then CEREC takes over and automatically shapes the restoration. Finally, the dental crown restoration is permanently bonded in place.

All this makes going to Adler Advanced Dentistry for dental crowns in Boulder much easier and faster, and who really wants to spend more time in the dental chair? Please call 303-449-1119 or book your free consultation online.

Who Is a Candidate for Crowns in One Visit With CEREC?

Ideal candidates for crowns in one visit have damaged teeth and want a fast solution to restore the look and function of their smile. CEREC technology offers custom crowns without the wait.

There are several reasons to get a same-day dental crown, including to:

  • Protect a weak or broken tooth.
  • Restore the shape and size of a worn-down tooth.
  • Cover a tooth with a large filling that needs additional support.
  • Conceal misshapen or severely discolored teeth.
  • Protect a tooth after a root canal procedure.
  • Cover a dental implant or hold a dental bridge in place.

What Is the Benefit of CEREC Compared To Traditional Crown Placement?

CEREC crowns offer several benefits over their traditional counterparts. Most importantly, these restorations are designed, created, and installed in just one visit to our dental office. You won’t have to make multiple appointments or wait weeks for an off-site lab to manufacture your crown.

And unlike some crowns, these ones won’t look dark in the middle. That is because they don’t contain metal cores. Patients enjoy the natural and realistic results that CEREC crowns offer.

Are One-Visit Crowns Painful?

It is normal to feel nervous about getting a dental crown. Fortunately, getting a one-visit crown shouldn’t be a painful experience. Local numbing agents are used to reduce any discomfort.

Our practice also offers a natural and drug-free alternative to sedation dentistry called NuCalm. It features four different techniques, including chewable supplements, to promote relaxation.

How Can I Prepare for One Visit Crowns With CEREC?

The process of getting a dental crown begins with a complete dental examination. Our dentist will need to evaluate your oral health and determine if there are any underlying issues to treat. These issues will need to be corrected in preparation for your one visit crowns with CEREC.

Another way that you can prepare for your same-day crown appointment is to ask questions. When you know exactly what to expect from your treatment and results, the process is easier. Talk to our dentist about the steps involved, the expected outcome, and necessary aftercare.

What Is Recovery Like After Your One Visit Crowns Are Placed?

Following the placement of your one visit crowns, you may experience some mild discomfort. It usually lasts for a few days and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. If the irritation or inflammation persists, or your bite feels off, be sure to check with our dentist.

Most people are able to return to their normal routines right away. However, it is important to follow our aftercare directions, which may include activity restrictions and foods to avoid.

How Long Do CEREC One Visit Crowns Take To Place?

CEREC one visit crowns are completed during a single appointment. The entire process can take anywhere from two to four hours. Individual factors may affect your exact treatment time.

Ask our dentist how much time you should block out for the procedure. Remember that it is always a good idea to err on the side of caution when requesting time off for dental work.
