Invisalign Special | Boulder Denver Adler Cosmetic & Family Dentistry Announces $500 Off Invisalign Treatment
Nationally recognized Colorado based cosmetic dentist Dr. Michael Adler announces Invisalign invisible braces promotion effective for June 2010.
Boulder, Colorado, June 3, 2010 – Adler Cosmetic & Family Dentistry today announced a special limited time discount for Invisalign teeth straightening treatments begun in June 2010.
To celebrate the start of summer Dr. Michael Adler of Adler Cosmetic & Family Dentistry has designated the entire month of June to be ‘Invisalign Month’. The first five patients that begin Invisalign treatment during the month of June will save $500 on the cost of their treatment. Patients that are not one of the first five to take advantage of this special offer will still save $300 on the cost of Invisalign treatment begun in June. The special Invisalign pricing is intended to provide patients with an added incentive to get that great looking smile they’ve always wanted while still saving summer fun money.
Additionally Dr. Adler is providing free consultations to answer questions about Invisalign treatment. Patients who’ve wondered whether Invisalign is the right treatment for them are encouraged to take advantage of this special opportunity.
Invisalign is the virtually invisible way to straighten teeth without braces. The Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to move teeth over time to give the smile patients want and deserve.
Among the chief advantages of using Invisalign are:
- Absence of ugly, metal bands and brackets
- Results in months instead of years
- Aligners are virtually invisible, so it’s nearly imperceptible to others that you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment.
Among the conditions that are treatable using Invisalign are: 1) Overly crowded teeth. This occurs when there is simply a lack of room within your jaw for all of your teeth to fit normally, 2) Widely spaced teeth. This occurs with abnormal continued growth of the jaw bone, 3) Crossbite. This occurs when the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned, 4) Overbite. It occurs when the upper teeth bite over the lower teeth, and 5) Underbite. This occurs when the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth.
Adler Cosmetic and Family Dentistry is open weekdays by appointment. Additional information about the practice and services offered is available at www.adlerdentistry.com.

Straighter teeth not only look better but are better for you also. Straighter teeth are easier to clean and so less prone to get cavities. I did Invisalign about 4 years ago. I had an overbite, a gap in my front teeth, and a tooth on the low that was rotated. I had wanted to have my teeth straightened for a while but when I got engaged I decided that it was time to have the picture perfect smile I had always wanted. Prior to the start of my Invisalign treatment I had all my cavities filled. I needed more fillings then I care to admit. During my first appointment, impressions were taken of my teeth. This was easier said then done since I had a gag reflex that was active that day.
The impressions were sent to Invisalign where they created a computer generated model of my teeth, known as a ClinCheck, showing how each aligner was going to move my teeth. This Clincheck was shown to me so the doctor and I could make any changes to the treatment plan before the aligner were actually fabricated. It was fascinating to see how my teeth would be transformed during treatment to the final results. Once the ClinCheck was approved by the doctor, Invisalign fabricated all of my aligners. It was important for me to have my fillings done before treatment started because all the aligners are created at the beginning and any changes to my teeth could have resulted in the aligners not fitting properly.
Once the aligners arrived, clear “buttons” were bonded to selected teeth. “Buttons” are small dots of composite resin that help the aligners to move selected teeth into the proper position. IPR (inter proximal reduction) was also done at this and other appointments. IPR is where the dentist removes a very minuscule amount from between certain teeth to allow them the room to move properly. Placing the buttons and doing the IPR was quick and painless. I wore my aligners 24/7 except to take them out to brush and eat. It was great. No one knew I was wearing them and I could still eat and clean my teeth like normal. I would change the aligners every 2-3 weeks. They would feel tight at first but by the time it was time to change them, they felt loose and comfortable. I got to the point where it felt strange not to have my aligners in. I could even see the changes in my teeth throughout treatment.
I was engaged for a year and also did Invisalign for a year. Once treatment was over, the buttons were removed and I only had to wear my retainers at night to keep my teeth from shifting back. The retainers are like traditional retainers. They are exactly like the last aligners but don’t have the button attachment bumps and are of a sturdier material. It was easy and pain free. I was done with treatment in time for my wedding and I had the picture perfect smile that I always wanted just in time for my perfect day.
If you want to see my results just ask for Kim, I work as both front office and dental assistant for Dr. Adler at Adler Cosmetic & Family Dentistry.

Invisalign | Clear Braces Revolutionizing Dentistry
Dr. Adler has been an Invisalign provider for the past seven years. He stays on top of Invisalign’s new developments and improvements by regularly attending continuing education courses, such as the one he is attending in March of 2010. He is constantly striving to not only offer his patients the best products available but to also improve his own knowledge and skills to offer them the best treatment possible.
Invisalign has been one of those revolutionary products in dentistry that has greatly contributed to helping patients improve their overall dental health and enhance their smiles both cosmetically and functionally without interrupting their lives. Invisalign is a great alternative to traditional braces to straighten teeth. With traditional braces patients have to wear metal brackets and wires for years in some cases that are uncomfortable, irritating the cheeks and gums, and are difficult to keep clean. In addition to all this they are also unattractive. Anyone who had traditional braces as a child will cringe at the memory of being called brace face or metal mouth. Adults are even more hesitant to have traditional braces placed because they feel self-conscious and not taken seriously. Invisalign allows you to straighten your teeth without looking like you are. Invisalign uses series of clear plastic trays called aligners that are custom made to gradually move your teeth into place by switching out aligners about every two weeks. They are easy to use and are removable to allow regular eating and brushing.

Invisalign is constantly striving to improve their products. One of their latest advancements is their new Invisalign Teen. This is a program that is tailored for teens. The aligners have a Blue Dot Wear Indicator designed to show an estimation of wear-time. For any lost or misplaced aligners, it comes with up to six free replacement aligners. Invisalign is constantly expanding the difficultly and types of problems that can be treated. Treatable conditions include overly crowded teeth, widely spaced teeth, crossbite, overbite, and underbite to name a few. Invisalign is not just for improving teeth cosmetically but is an important tool for improving a patient’s overall health and wellness. Straighter teeth are easier to clean and less prone to infection. People will often think that infections in the mouth are somehow isolated from the rest of the body but this could not be further from the truth. Dental infections can easily spread throughout the body. Good dental health improves the health of the entire body.

Getting Aligned with Invisalign – Invisible Braces
Jeff came to Dr. Adler of Adler Cosmetic & Family Dentistry seeking to brighten and straighten his smile. Dr. Adler sat down with Jeff and discussed exactly what Jeff’s expectations and goals were. He found that Jeff wanted his teeth to be healthy but also wanted them too look good and appear natural. Based on Dr. Adler’s thorough exam, he noted that Jeff had decay on several teeth and that one of his lateral teeth (#10 upper left next to middle front teeth) was peg shaped, under sized and out of proportion. He also saw that Jeff’s teeth were discolored and varied in shade, crowded, in an unhealthy bite, and had extreme wear and gum line problems. Dr. Adler recommended that Jeff first have fillings done to remove the decay and get his teeth healthy and then proceed with Invisalign and Zoom Whitening to straighten and brighten his teeth. He also recommended that Jeff restore his lateral teeth (#7 and 10, on either side of his upper front teeth) to their correct size and proportion with porcelain veneers. The fillings were important to do first not only to remove the decay before the cavity got worse but also because Jeff would not have been able to have any restorative work done once the Invisalign treatment had started until it was finished. This is because the trays that are used in the treatment are made all at once and progressively shift the teeth into position as the trays are changed out. If restorative work was done during treatment then the trays would not fit.
Jeff Before
For each tooth with a cavity, Dr. Adler removed the decay from the tooth and then placed tooth colored composite resin in the prepared tooth reshaping it to its original shape. A harmless curing light is used to harden and set the material. The tooth is then good as new and the filling is unnoticeable.
Once all the cavities had been restored with composite fillings, Dr. Adler was able to start the Invisalign. An impression of Jeff’s teeth and bite were taken and then sent to Invisalign labs. There a model of Jeff’s mouth was made and scanned as 3-D virtual image. They then made small incremental movements of the virtual teeth to simulate how the aligners would shift the teeth into their final position. Buttons, small tooth colored composite dots placed on selected teeth, were required to help certain teeth shift and rotate more. Once this virtual model was completed, it was sent to Dr. Adler for approval and/or modification. Once approved, the aligners were fabricated for the entire treatment phase and sent back to Dr. Adler. The buttons were places on the selected teeth and Jeff was given his first set of aligners. Each aligner was worn for about two weeks and each new aligner was slightly different to help slowly move the teeth into there proper position. The aligners were clear so it was hard for anyone to know that Jeff had “braces” on. They were removable for easy cleaning and were not worn when eating. Since Jeff had crowded teeth, IPR (inter proximal reduction) was required to give the teeth more room to move. IPR is a very simple and painless procedure that involves Dr. Adler filing a very minuscule portion between the teeth to create a small amount of space that the teeth will later move into. Treatment was completed in 6 month, much less time than traditional braces. The buttons were removed once treatment was done and clear aligner retainers were given to be worn at night to keep the teeth from shifting back.
Jeff had Zoom Whitening treatment done to brighten his new smile and remove the discoloration. The
Zoom whitening gel was applied to each tooth and then cured with a high intensity curing light that activates the whitening gel. The Zoom light aids in activating the hydrogen peroxide and helps it penetrate the surface of the tooth. This procedure was repeated four times to maximize the whitening effect. After the treatment, Jeff had a noticeably brighter smile. He was given more whitening gel to use with his Invisalign retainers for any need touch up or maintenance bleaching.

Jeff After
Jeff’s two upper front teeth on either side of the middle teeth (#7 & 10) were first shaped and roughened to prepare them for the veneers. Impressions were then taken of the teeth and sent to Aurum Ceramic Dental Laboratory, where the veneers were artistically custom crafted. Once the veneers had returned from the lab, they were cemented onto Jeff’s teeth using a durable adhesive bond. The bond was then cured with a harmless high-intensity light. This final touch completed Jeff’s treatment and he now has exactly what he wanted, a straight and white natural looking smile. The results are stunning and Jeff loves showing off his smile now.
